Doug Benson Brings 35 Years of Pharmacy Benefit Experience to RxLogic
Pharmacy benefit technology delivers value when it supports the objectives, workflows and operational realities of the organizations using it. That takes capable infrastructure. It also requires experienced leadership that can understand what clients need, identify where challenges originate and connect those priorities with a practical strategy.
RxLogic recently appointed Doug Benson vice president, strategic account planning & success. In this role, he will lead client success and strategic account strategy, deepen partnerships and help more pharmacy benefit stakeholders realize the value of technology designed around their business objectives.
RxLogic delivers compliant pharmacy benefit operational execution through a modern technology platform purpose-built for claim pricing decisions, financial workflows and regulatory compliance at scale. Benson’s appointment strengthens the client-facing expertise behind that technology.
Experience Across Complex Pharmacy Benefit Markets
Benson brings more than 35 years of experience in pharmacy benefits, strategic sales and client consulting. His career spans commercial pharmacy benefits, workers’ compensation and tribal employer markets, giving him a broad perspective on how different organizations evaluate, implement and manage their pharmacy benefit strategies.
Most recently, Benson served as vice president, sales, at BeneCard. He managed complex, multistate PBM accounts and advised tribal employers, brokers and consultants on plan design, pricing and vendor strategy.
He previously held senior sales and business development roles with Ascellus, Preferred Medical, Optum, National Medical Health Card and RxAmerica. Across these positions, he developed expertise in PBM program development, RFP management, contract negotiation, financial analysis, client retention and market expansion.
That experience extends beyond acquiring new business. It includes understanding what sustains a successful client relationship after implementation.
Client Success Starts with Understanding the Business
Strategic account planning requires a clear view of what each client aims to accomplish and how decisions made across pharmacy benefit operations affect that goal. Pricing, plan structure, technology, service and implementation cannot operate as separate considerations. Together, they shape financial performance, operational efficiency and the client experience. Benson brings the consultative perspective needed to connect those elements.
“Doug understands the operational and financial complexities behind pharmacy benefit decisions,” says Lori Daugherty, CEO, RxLogic. “He is adept at connecting client priorities with practical strategies and technology that deliver greater flexibility, transparency and control.”
This approach supports more informed conversations from the beginning of a relationship. It also helps ensure that account strategy continues to reflect changing business needs, market conditions and operational demands over time.
Connecting Client Goals with Operational Execution
Many technology platforms provide data or decision-support tools. RxLogic executes operational workflows tied to claim pricing, rebate and compliance processes. For clients, that distinction turns strategy into action within the claim lifecycle.
Benson will help organizations understand how RxLogic’s capabilities can support their specific objectives, whether they need greater control over pricing logic, more transparent financial workflows, configurable program rules or technology that can adapt as their business evolves.
“Pharmacy benefit organizations need technology that matches their business objectives,” says Benson. “RxLogic has built a technology platform that is genuinely innovative for this industry. Our model combines modern technology with the flexibility and support organizations need to move beyond restrictive legacy approaches.”
Strengthening RxLogic’s Next Stage of Growth
Benson’s appointment reflects RxLogic’s continued investment in client success and strategic account leadership as the company expands across PBMs, health plans, self-insured employers and other pharmacy benefit stakeholders nationwide.
Modern infrastructure provides the operational foundation. Experienced, consultative leadership helps organizations apply it effectively. By bringing those capabilities together, RxLogic can deepen existing partnerships, support new opportunities and give clients greater confidence in how their pharmacy benefit strategies move from planning into execution.
